Frequent Q & A

What is HAC?

HAC is our Home Access Center.  HAC is where you can see your student’s standardized test scores, track absences, and view report cards.  If you have never used HAC before, you’ll need to set up your Guardian Single Sign On (SSO) account.  Each parent will have their own SSO account to view student information.  This is based on your unique email address.

Setting up your Guardian SSO Account to Use HAC

Please claim your Guardian SSO Account if you are new to McKinney ISD or if you have not already claimed it. All Parents/Guardian have one Single Sign-On (SSO) account for all of their children. Each parent must have a separate email address.

To claim your SSO account go to https://sso.mckinneyisd.net and click the “Claim Guardian Account” button. Enter Guardian Information. The first name, last name and e-mail address MUST match what was entered during registration.

** You will also need to have your student’s ID number.  You can contact the Frazier front office for this information.

Click here for more detailed directions using SSO.

When is the Frazier Office Open?

Frazier office staff are available on school days between 7:30am – 3:15pm to assist you.   If you arrive before 7:30am, please wait in the atrium until someone is available.

Can I eat lunch with my student?

Yes!  We love lunch visitors.  We have tables set up in the cafeteria that are designated for parents to sit with their child.

Parents are welcome to bring food to their student at lunch, but only to their student.  You may not bring in food for other students, and no other students may join you at the visitor table.   Thank you for helping us with these important safety measures so we can continue to have visitors on campus at lunch.

All visitors to campus must bring their current, unexpired, physical license to enter the building for any reason.

How do I communicate with my student’s teacher?

Our teachers are busy teaching during the instructional day.  The best way to reach them is through email, so they can respond during their conference period if they are not in a meeting, or after school.   If you would like to talk to your teacher on the phone or in person, you can schedule a conference with them.

Will my child have a snack at school?

Yes –  all students should bring a healthy, hand-held snack to school that is easy to eat and clean up to be eaten in the classroom.  Students should also bring a water bottle to refill during the day.  Frazier has water fountains available for refilling, or for drinking if a water bottle is forgotten.

Can I send party favors for my child’s birthday?

Yes!  Party favors for the entire class are welcome, as long as there are no food/candy items included.  Additionally, birthday party invitations may only be brought to school as long as the entire class is invited.

Can my child have their cell phone at school?

Students may have their phones at school, but once inside the building, the phone must be turned off and put away in the backpack or locker for the entirety of the school day.   If you need to communicate with your chid, please contact the Frazier front office. Phones and smart watches that become a distraction will be turned over to administrators and the next course of action will be determined.

Where can I look for items my child is missing?

Frazier’s Lost & Found is located in the cafeteria.  We encourage you to have your student look in the Lost & Found regularly, as there are many unclaimed items in there.

Please make sure your student’s name is on all of their things –  water bottles, lunchboxes, jackets, coats, sweatshirts, backpacks, etc.  If we can find names, we can get items back to their owner.

Items that are unclaimed are donated twice per year –  at winter break and at the end of the year, so be sure to come claim your items!

How is medication handled at school?

All medications that your student will need must go through the Frazier school nurse.  Please contact the nurse with any questions you have, and to get the proper forms for any medication, including inhalers and epi-pens, that your child will need.  MISD has a No Tolerance policy for students in possession of medication of any kind, including vitamins, herbal supplements, and over-the-counter medications.

PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)

Frazier has a very active parent/teacher organization.  We are excited to partner with our families to help all of our students and staff be the best Gators they can be!  Please visit the PTO website for information on getting involved, upcoming events, and more!

How can I find out my child’s STAAR scores?

  • Go to the website: https://www.texasassessment.gov/
  • You will need the following information: Student’s first name and date of birth; Student’s Unique Access Code
  • Your student’s state testing access code will be the same throughout their academic career. Here’s how you get your access code:
    • Scroll down the page to the question: “How do I look up my access code?”
    • Your student’s TSDS ID is generally their social security number. Enter their SS number, birth date, and first name.
    • If that does not pull up an access code for you, then most likely you did not provide a social security number at registration, and the district assigned your student a TSDS ID. You will need to contact the Frazier front office for your student’s ID number.
  • If you have a report from a previous year’s STAAR test, your student’s Unique Access Code will be on that as well.
