Learning Commons
Learning Commons Mission: The mission of the Slaughter Learning Commons is to ensure that students and staff are effective evaluators, users and communicators of ideas and information, enabling them to be literate life-long learners.
The Slaughter Elementary Library has transitioned into a “Learning Commons” to accommodate the needs of our 21st Century learners. A Learning Commons is a place for experts and learners to come together to engage with information and create new understandings. Its flexible space allows individuals, small groups, and classes to visit at their own convenience. The open commons is a place where teachers can demonstrate the very best teaching and learning practices in the school and others can observe excellence in action.
