SENIOR 2024 – GRADUATION CAP DECORATION INFORMATION

Congratulations! Your senior year will be full of fun, exciting events and we want to help you plan for these memorable moments. Below you will find a list of guidelines for decorating the senior graduate cap for graduation.  It is an option in McKinney ISD for seniors to decorate their caps with the local college, junior college, university, branch of military, or trade school the student plans to attend following graduation from McKinney ISD. This is not a requirement; decorating the graduate cap is completely optional.

GENERAL GRADUATE CAP DECORATING INFORMATION

All Cap/Gown Units must be purchased from the McKinney HS store at www.jostens.com.

ALL Cap Decorations must lay flat on the cap (mortarboard):

●  All designs must be approved by Mrs. Wood in C101.

●  Do NOT decorate your cap until you have received approval

●  Only college logos/colors and military logos/colors will be approved. Please clearly identify colors on your design. No mascots.

●  The design must be flat on the cap. Items cannot be placed on the underside, protruding from the top or hanging from the sides. Flowers are not allowed.

●  Declared major and/or extra-curriculars have to be spelled out. Tag lines, slogans, and quotes are not allowed.

●  Unapproved designs are NOT allowed to be worn at the graduation ceremony.

●  All forms are due to Mrs. Wood in C101 by April 28th at 2:30pm.

 IMPORTANT INFORMATION

***Please note a  MHS Staff member Line Leader will check your cap at graduation to make sure that all cap decorations meet campus guidelines. Any student who does not adhere to the posted guidelines above will be asked to remove the décor and will be asked to wear a blank cap for the ceremony.***
