Thirteen North Students Qualify for the Area Level HOSA Competitions

December 4, 2019 McKinney North students in Clinical Health Science took part in the first round of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) competitions. Thirteen students placed in the top ten and will continue on to the area level competitions. 

  • Kamryn Ranucci placed #1 in Clinical Nursing
  • Talia Laufer placed #3 in EMT
  • Drew Wilkinson placed #3 in Physical Therapy
  • Tiffany Mogusu placed #4 in Physical Therapy
  • Angelica Montes placed #5 in Cultural Diversities & Disparities
  • Kiara Ballay, Olivia Lemmon, Ruriko Okita, Diana Zapanta worked as a team and placed #7 in the HOSA Bowl
  • Jada Bailey placed #8 in Cultural Diversities & Disparities
  • Julia Berman placed #8 in EMT
  • Jayden Ririe placed #9 in Healthy Lifestyle
  • Rachael Taylor placed #9 in Nursing Assisting

Ruriko Okita, ‘21, when asked about what she anticipates about the next round said, “I anticipate that the next round will be a lot more intense than the first round, but also a lot more fun since it’s in person and not online. I’m looking forward to the competition, and I hope to see some familiar faces from last year.”
