About MNHS

McKinney North High School is a 5A school located in McKinney, Texas, just 33 miles North of Dallas. Our main building opened in 2000, and the phase II addition, including the auditorium and fine arts wing, opened in 2003.

We currently house an enrollment of approximately 2000+ students, grades 9-12.

McKinney North operates on a 7:30 a.m. to 2:37 p.m. schedule, which includes seven class periods and a thirty minute lunch period. Students may not leave campus during this time as an MISD high school campus policy.

Our administrators and faculty work hard to provide our diverse student body with a broad variety of learning opportunities and extracurricular experiences. We are proud to offer students over 50 Pre-AP, AP and dual credit courses, several career and technology certificate programs, a Project Lead the Way engineering course of study, six stellar UIL fine arts programs, and 22 competitive UIL athletic teams. Equally important is MNHS’s dedication to character and strong community feeling. MNHS is proud of its students, their accomplishments, and the contributions they will continue to make as they use their education to serve others.
