Culbreath signs with U of Arkansas
“I wanted a strong group of girls and a really close team, along with a great coach. However, I also wanted a school that I could be happy at even if I couldn’t run, and I felt like Arkansas had all of those qualities!” Culbreath explained regarding her decision between colleges.

Only fifteen seconds away from the Olympic qualifying time for running, the future looks bright for Texas high school senior, London Culbreath.

On November 13, 2019, Culbreath announced her commitment to the University of Arkansas and their accomplished cross country running program during McKinney North High School’s signing day.

“I wanted a strong group of girls and a really close team, along with a great coach. However, I also wanted a school that I could be happy at even if I couldn’t run, and I felt like Arkansas had all of those qualities!” Culbreath explained regarding her decision between colleges.

After setting expectations high her freshman year, Culbreath’s inner monologue has consisted of a repetitive tone of “all of these people are expecting you to win, so don’t lose, don’t lose, don’t lose.” Because of this internal pressure to train even harder, Culbreath regularly runs 35-45 miles a week. The strain put on her legs resulted in her developing both Achilles Tendinitis and IT Band Syndrome earlier this year. Since then, she has regularly attended sessions with athletic trainers and chiropractors in order to heal her body. Fortunately, Culbreath remains grateful that she gets to continue to glorify God through running.

Utilizing her intellect as a top student, Culbreath plans to major in either kinesiology or exercise science. Although her dream is to become an Olympian and continue as a professional runner, she would also love to pursue a career in pediatrics, coaching, physical therapy, or open up her own training facility for children.

The world will be watching London Culbreath eagerly as she continues her impressive running career into college and beyond.
