About Finch

Welcome to Finch!
Finch Elementary is a  neighborhood elementary school that is located within walking distance of historic downtown McKinney. We are a Title 1, bilingual campus serving 460 students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The campus was built in 1939 by the Works Progress Administration, so it is not unusual for students to have parents, or even grandparents, who attended Finch.  Our motto, “The Finch Way: Every Child, Every Day”, reflects the commitment of the Finch staff to create an environment that advances meaningful learning for every child, every day. Daily innovative and engaging instruction is designed to prepare Finch students to be positive leaders and contributing members of society.

At Finch, we are committed to fostering a school culture that encourages students, teachers, staff, parents and community members to work collaboratively to promote the learning and achievement.  If you need information or assistance,  please give our office staff a call at 469-302-5600.

Elementary Education in MISD
Building a strong academic and social foundation is paramount at the elementary level. For this reason, McKinney ISD teachers and staff are committed to teaching the “whole child” in our elementary schools. The elementary curriculum is consistent from campus to campus, ensuring a high quality education regardless of the school, yet allowing teachers the latitude to develop innovative strategies that are tailored to the individual child.
