Webb Elementary was established in 1953. It used to be called East Ward.
Webb Elementary delivers a distinctive, challenging and enriched educational experience to kindergarten-5th grade students. Building a strong academic and social foundation is paramount at the elementary level. For this reason, McKinney ISD teachers and staff are committed to teaching the “whole child” in our elementary schools. The elementary curriculum is consistent from campus to campus, ensuring a high quality education regardless of the school, yet allowing teachers the latitude to develop innovative strategies that are tailored to the individual child.
Webb currently has 420 students in K-5 and is also the home campus for the ALPHA program in McKinney ISD. Webb currently has 11 iPads in each k-1st classroom and 2-5 students each have their own laptop.
Webb Elementary’s Principal is Maria Hafner. Maria has been the Assistant Principal at McClure Elementary for the past four years. Before moving to Texas, Maria taught kindergarten and 1st grade in Pinellas County, Florida, and she taught 1st grade and then served as the coordinator of a Professional Development School in Fairfax County, Virginia. Maria and her husband, Chris, live in Little Elm. They will be empty-nesters this fall when their daughter, Ashlyn, starts her freshman year at Texas A&M.
The Assistant Principal is Marina Byrd. Marina has been in education for 26 years. She started her teaching career in Dallas ISD and moved to McKinney in 2001.
