Safety Patrol
The job of the Safety Patrol is to protect and guide students arriving at school in the mornings and leaving in the afternoon. Members also serve as role models within our school and teach others about traffic safety. Safety Patrol is open to 4th and 5th graders willing to serve and commit to helping our carpool lines before/after school during their scheduled week. There will be an informational meeting for the 2021-2022 members.

Green Team
The Green Team at Walker helps students to understand how to live a “Green” life and why it’s important to put in the effort! Students will get their hands on recycling materials and learn the long term effects on our planet. 3rd Grade students will help around the Walker campus with Green efforts such as emptying recycling bins and spreading awareness to our student body on topics like water waste, pollution, and sustainable farming.

Student Council
Walker Student Council is an organization designed to promote student leadership, citizenship, and school spirit. The council will be composed of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. President, Vice President, and Secretary positions will be limited to 5th grade students. 3rd and 4th grade students will elect class representatives and 4th and 5th grade students will have the opportunity to run for 4 PTA liaison positions. This team will collaborate with PTA to facilitate the use of student volunteers throughout the year and serve as a communication team to promote PTA events.
Each student that is interested in running for student council will be asked to give a speech, and be allowed to create two campaign posters. Those elected will serve in student leadership, stewardship, and community outreach representatives. They will also assist in the operation of the school store.

Walker Choir
The Walker Choir is open to 4th and 5th grade students who love to sing. Choir is an enrichment program offered to students who are interested in embracing a vocal challenge beyond the music classroom.
Rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30-7:55am in the music room (B111). We will start choir on Tuesday, August 31 and perform during events around the school throughout the year.

Walker Run Club
The Walker Run/Walk Club meets for 7 weeks in the Fall semester starting on October 4th and then again in the spring beginning on March 28th. We will meet from 7:30-7:55 on M/W/F at Hill Top Park. The goal is to give everyone a chance to walk/run before starting our school day. Look for more information from Coach Stout at least 2 weeks before the start date.
