About McNeil

McNeil Elementary was built in 2001 and named after Arthur McNeil.  We have had the privilege of serving thousands of children.

Our Mission:  The mission of McNeil Elementary School, as an advocate for student success, is to inspire and empower all students to become critical, innovative thinkers and motivated learners, actively questioning, creating and demonstrating their unique potential through nurturing relationships and diverse learning experiences in a collaborative partnership with students, parents, staff and the community.

Mustang of the Month Program: To be selected as a Mustang of the Month means you have been recognized by your teacher for exhibiting the character trait of the month.  Our students have the ability to make positive choices on a daily basis, and nominating them to be a Mustang of the Month is just one way we can let them know their efforts are appreciated.  Our Mustangs of the Month are recognized at our monthly Mustang Roundup assembly.

I am a Mighty Mustang

and I have the power to be anything I want to be.

I will listen and I will learn.

I can achieve, I will achieve, I will be successful!

Student involvement:  Extracurricular activities allow students to become involved in specific areas of interest and to apply what they are learning in school to this activity. Student involvement in these programs helps develop well-rounded students while building self-esteem and self-discipline. They will carry these skills with them long after graduation as they transition into higher education and career pursuits.

Exciting programs and activities at McNeil Elementary include:

  • Choir
  • Kindness Club
  • Annual Talent Show
  • News Crew

Elementary Education in MISD:  Building a strong academic and social foundation is paramount at the elementary level. For this reason, McKinney ISD teachers and staff are committed to teaching the “whole child” in our elementary schools. The elementary curriculum is consistent from campus to campus, ensuring a high quality education regardless of the school, yet allowing teachers the latitude to develop innovative strategies that are tailored to the individual child.
