My name is Michelle Caballero, and I am the Instructional Coach at McGowen Elementary. I grew up in Richardson, Texas. I attended Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood and Reading. I began my career in Education in Plano ISD where I taught for 7 years. My husband and I later built our home in McKinney and I began teaching in MISD in 2005. I taught at McNeil for 4 years and then became the Intervention Specialist in 2009. I served in this capacity for 2 years and then became the Instructional Specialist the following year. I continued to support McNeil, McGowen, and Johnson Elementary as an Instructional Specialist. I have been in this role at McGowen since 2011; however, McGowen became my sole campus beginning in 2015. I couldn’t be happier to be a Maverick! My husband, Dan, and I have 3 wonderful sons and we reside in McKinney (right here in Avalon). I am not only a proud member of the MISD family, but honored to watch my own children grow and learn from this exemplary school district.
