My name is Kim Luyster, and I am proud to be the Principal at McGowen Elementary. Prior to coming to McGowen, I served as the Assistant Principal at Glen Oaks for two years and the Assistant Principal at Malvern Elementary for three years before that. In 2002, I joined the staff at Wolford Elementary where I taught 2nd grade, and 6 years later, I transferred to Bennett Elementary to teach 3rd grade. Following my experiences as a teacher, I had the opportunity to work as an Instructional Coach at Caldwell Elementary. I have a wonderful husband named Curtis, grand-daughters named Mia and Everly, and three adult children who all attended McKinney ISD schools. I love spending time on our boat when I have a chance, and value having quality time with my family and friends. I am an advocate for children and I believe that every child deserves a champion who encourages them to reach their potential. I value the partnerships created with parents and the community and appreciate the support they provide both in and outside of the school.
