I am so excited to be joining the Malvern team! I am first and foremost a mom to Loren and Tanner. Loren is 25 years old and has just moved to Africa. She majored in fashion merchandising and business and became involved with a fair trade organization in college. Helping women in third world countries receive a fair wage for their work has now become her passion. She recently moved to Uganda to work directly with the women her company employs. My son, Tanner, will be a senior at McKinney Boyd and is in the aviation program.  His dream is to become a pilot. I also have a fur baby named Ava, a German Shepherd mix, that we adopted from the shelter last March. Teaching is my second career. I majored in sociology and worked with at-risk students in a different setting and soon realized that I was called to teach. I went back to school to get my teaching credentials and taught special education for 5 years before becoming an administrator. I have served as Assistant Principal at Glen Oaks Elementary for the past nine years. I am thrilled to be at Malvern! I worked with some of the Malvern students and staff during my time as summer school Principal. I fell in love with both the school and the students and have wanted to move to Title 1 since that time.
