About Caldwell

Caldwell Elementary was named after Gibson C. Caldwell, son of a prominent North Texas physician. A local business and civic leader, Mr. Caldwell managed the Collin County Mill and Elevator Company. He became director of the Collin County National Bank in 1939 and was elected chairman of the bank’s board in 1954. Mr. Caldwell was elected to the McKinney School Board in 1926 where he served for twenty-five years, leading as its president from 1939 to 1951.

Caldwell Elementary is located one-half mile from downtown McKinney, among one of the largest historic districts in Texas. The school services approximately 530 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

The mission of Caldwell Elementary, the foundation of excellence for the future in the heart of McKinney, is to inspire and empower all students to value learning, embrace their infinite potential and become responsible decision makers who achieve personal and academic growth through engaging in purposeful, challenging experiences in a safe haven for diversity while building dynamic relationships within the global community.

Caldwell’s focus is to foster a culture of involvement for everyone: students, teachers, parents, staff, and community members. The staff at Caldwell are committed to promoting the learning and achievement of all students.

Our Program
Caldwell Elementary offers a distinctive, challenging and enriched educational experience to Kindergarten through 5th grade students. The College Bound program at Caldwell analyzes individual student data and tailors the curriculum to specific student needs. Academic offerings are enriched by our award winning art and music program and complemented by a full array of physical education activities.

Student Involvement
Extracurricular activities allow students to become involved in specific areas of interest and to apply what they are learning in school. Student involvement in these programs develop well-rounded students.

Elementary Education
Building a strong academic and social foundation is crucial in elementary school. McKinney ISD staff are committed to teaching the “whole child” in our schools. The elementary curriculum ensures a high quality education regardless of student’s developmental levels and allows teachers the latitude to develop innovative strategies that are tailored to the individual child.
