Robert Quach comes to MISD from Frisco and Garland ISDs and brings 18 years in education to his role at MHS, including 10 years as a campus administrator at both the middle and high school levels. Quach has previously served as a middle school summer school principal and has extensive experience as a campus testing coordinator for local, state and national assessments. Additionally, he has led various campus special programs such as Special Education, English Learners and Section 504 programs. “I am so excited to be joining the McKinney Lion family and working under the guidance and leadership of Principal Shelly Spaulding. I am honored and humbled to have been chosen to be a part of an elite team of students, faculty and staff. I am looking forward to learning the McKinney way and honoring the traditions, both old and new! Go Lions!” Quach began his career in Garland ISD as an Algebra 1 & Geometry teacher at South Garland High School. In 2007, Quach became an 8th grade math teacher at the Classical Center at Brandenburg Middle School. In 2011, he was recognized as a Texas PTA Lifetime Member award. In 2013, he was named the Secondary Teacher of the Year for Garland ISD. After 7 years in the classroom, he became a campus administrator and served at Austin Academy for Excellence, North Garland High School, Naaman Forest High School and Sachse High School, all with Garland ISD. In 2021, after 15 years with Garland ISD, Quach joined Frisco ISD as an administrator at Frisco High School. In 2023, Quach was elected to serve as a Region 10 Representative for the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP). Quach earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from Southern Methodist University, a master's degree in higher education administration from the University of Kansas and a master's degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. In 2012, he was accepted into the doctoral program at TAMU-Commerce under the Department of Educational Leadership, and he completed superintendent certification in 2015. Quach holds the following Texas educator certifications: Mathematics 4-8, Special Education EC-12, English as a Second Language Supplemental EC-12, Gifted/Talented Supplemental EC-12, Principal EC-12, & Superintendent EC-12.
