Mrs. de Leon joined the McKinney ISD family in 2007 when she helped open McGowen Elementary. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University. Mrs. de Leon also earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a second Master’s Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University – Commerce. She taught Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 2nd grade before becoming an elementary school counselor. Mrs. de Leon served the students and families of Garland ISD for 10 years before joining McKinney ISD. She is originally from San Antonio, TX, but moved to North Texas once she completed undergraduate school. Mrs. de Leon currently lives in McKinney with her husband and two daughters. She also has two adult stepsons.
