Hello McGowen Students and Families! My name is Marisa Rivner. This year, I will be teaching first grade, and I'm so excited to make an impact on some wonderful young learners! I have been teaching elementary school since 2006, and I have taught every grade level other than fifth. I graduated with my Masters in Elementary Education in 2006 from the University of Florida. I grew up in Clearwater, Florida, but I've also lived and taught in Atlanta. When I was engaged to my husband, Josh, he got a job at Frito Lay and we decided to move to Texas after our wedding. Here, we have had two beautiful children: Benjamin and Niomi. My family and I love going on trips, eating at wonderful restaurants, and visiting theme parks around the country. I also love playing Mah Jong with friends in my spare time. It's going to be a great year of learning, growth, and fun!
