My name is Leisa Woodward and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year! I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have taught Kindergarten, First and Second grade. I joined the McGowen staff in 2022.. I am originally from Georgia. I graduated from The University of West Georgia in 1991 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. In 1996, my husband and I moved to Chicago. We lived in the suburbs of Chicago for 25 years. Our family moved to Texas in 2020. I have twins, Jack (University of Oklahoma ‘23) and Caroline (University of Alabama ‘23). When Jack and Caroline are home, we enjoy spending time together…especially watching football.
