Mrs. Gilliam began her career in McKinney ISD in 1999, serving as a teacher, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal before becoming a Principal in 2007. She joined the Malvern Elementary family in 2014. She holds a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A & M-Commerce. She is currently working towards a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A & M University with an anticipated completion date of 2025. She believes the most important role of the school is to empower students to become positive, productive citizens who find joy in their daily activities. As a mother and grandmother, she understands the importance of strong partnerships between the home and the school and welcomes parents and community members to be active participants at Malvern Elementary.
