• Total family income (BEFORE TAXES) falls within State guidelines
• Family is homeless
• Child is/was in foster care in the State of Texas (Form # 2085 from DFPS required)
• Child is a non-English or limited English (NOT fluent) speaker. Don’t forget to bring your child with you as he/she will need to be tested. Please know that if your child is fluent in English, your family will need to qualify based on your income, even if another language is spoken at home.
• Parent is on active military duty or has been killed/injured in action.
• Parent/guardian is eligible for the Star of Texas Award as peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code; firefighter under Section 3106.003, Government Code or emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code. Please know that a letter of recognition/award is required. If you still have questions about qualifying please call the PreK office at 469-302-2400. You may pick up a PreK application (or registration packet) the last week in April at Lawson ECS. Please make sure that you have filled out the application and collected ALL of the required documents listed in the registration packet prior to arriving to the Early Registration Event as we DO NOT accept incomplete packets or packets with missing documentation.

• El niño/a habla otro idioma y NO es fluente en inglés. No se olvide de traerlo/a ese día para que le podamos hacer la prueba del lenguaje. Por favor sepa que si su niño/a es fluente en inglés, usted tendrá que calificar por medio de sus ingresos, aún si su familia habla español en casa.
• Su ingreso familiar total (ANTES DE IMPUESTOS) está dentro de las guías estatales del gobierno de Texas.
• Su familia no tiene un lugar estable en donde vivir.
• El niño/a está o ha estado en cuidado temporal en el estado de Texas - Foster Care (la forma #2085 del DFPS es requerida).
• Cualquiera de los padres está en servicio militar activo o fue herido/falleció en combate.
• Uno de los padres/guardianes es elegible al Premio “Star of Texas” otorgado a oficiales de policía bajo Sección 3106.002, Código de Gobierno; bomberos bajo Sección 3106.003, Código de Gobierno o paramédicos bajo Sección 3106.004, Código de Gobierno. Deberá presentar carta de reconocimiento o premio. Si todavía tiene dudas sobre como calificar llame al 469-302-2400 Usted puede recoger un paquete de inscripción durante la última semana de Abril en la oficina de la escuela Lawson. Por favor asegúrese de haber llenado completamente el paquete de inscripción y de haber colectado todos los documentos requeridos antes de venir al evento de inscripción, ya que nosotros no aceptamos paquetes incompletos o paquetes a los que les falten documentos.
